Total FX

TotalFX combines ActiveFX with DeepFX.

While ActiveFX treats dyschromias and wrinkles, DeepFX treats scars, dermal lesions and stimulates long-term remodeling.  A TotalFX treatment covers all issues and combines the results of ActiveFX and DeepFX.

Active FX

Over time, skin loses its youthful look and gives way to brown spots, wrinkles and laxity. ActiveFX removes fine lines and sun spots, tightens the skin and increases the amount of collagen in as little as 4 to 7 days with a single treatment.

What is Active FX?

ActiveFX treats dyschromia, fine lines, wrinkles and skin laxity. During an ActiveFX fractional resurfacing procedure, a high-energy beam of laser light interacts with the skin's surface, causing the upper layer to peel off and regenerate a layer of new, healthy skin. Only a fraction of the skin's surface is treated. The laser beam is applied in a fractional pattern, leaving small "bridges" of untouched skin. This technique makes the healing process much faster and enables you to get back to normal activities sooner.

What results can be expected with Active FX?

ActiveFX produces a dramatic effect on the skin:

• Causes immediate skin tightening
• Reduces wrinkles and fine lines, and softens deeper frown lines
• Noticeably improves skin tone and texture
• Stimulates new collagen formation and plumps the skin

Results of the treatment are long-term and, with proper sun protection, can last for many years. Most effects of the treatment become visible right away, while others - such as new collagen formation - build gradually and results in continued smoothing over time. Therefore, most patients continue to show improvement up to six months after the procedure.

What is an Active FX Treatment like?

ActiveFX is performed in our office with a topical anesthetic cream that is applied before the procedure begins. There is little to no pain associated with the procedure - most patients say they feel warmth similar to sunburn.

With a gentle washing and moisturizing regimen, your photodamaged skin will begin to flake off within 2 days. Pinkness should be gone in about 1 to 2 weeks.

Deep FX

Over time, changes deep in the dermis accumulate leading to visible signs that include fine lines, deep wrinkles, textural irregularities and scarring. To adequately treat these problems, treatments need to reach the deep layers of your skin and renew the collagen foundation. Previous treatments produced great results but were limited in appeal due to lengthy recovery times. With fractional DeepFX treatments, deep layers of skin can be treated with minimal downtime. With just a single treatment, deep wrinkles, skin texture and scars are dramatically improved.

 What is DeepFX?

DeepFX is a fractional laser technology for aged, sun-damaged or scarred skin. The low-downtime procedure uses fractional CO2 laser microbeams to precisely target the deep dermal layers of the skin. The procedure treats only a fraction of the skin's surface, leaving bridges of untouched skin to aid in the regeneration process. The treatment stimulates healing responses that lead to tissue regeneration and new collagen formation throughout the entire treatment area. The result is softening and smoothing of wrinkles and scars, and improved skin texture. Because only a fraction of the skin is actually touched by the laser, healing time can be limited to just a few days.

DeepFX is commonly used on the face, around the lips, for crows feet, the neck, upper chest, hands and arms.

What is an DeepFX treatment like?

DeepFX is performed in our office with a topical anesthetic cream that is applied before the procedure begins. As the microbeams are applied, you will feel a warm sensation at the treatment area. Immediately following the treatment, your skin will feel warm and will be similar in appearance to a bad sunburn. As your skin heals, it will begin to flake and you will notice improvement in your wrinkles, fine lines and scars.
